Sedation can be used to calm a person for a procedure. These drugs ease discomfort, pain, and anxiety. They are usually given through an IV line in your arm.
When a patient is sedated they need to make sure to not have any food or drink after midnight the preceding day. They also need to make sure they have someone to drive them to and from the appointment.
